BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Healthcare Administration provides instruction in the practical, legal, and ethical issues faced by professionals in healthcare administration. The program is designed to provide students with a broad-based knowledge of general education, business, leadership and management, as well as a firm grasp of the specific aspects that challenge the healthcare administration field.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Healthcare Administration provides students with knowledge in healthcare theories and components of the healthcare delivery system in the United States, as well as the skill to lead and manage in that industry. The program explores the impact of factors that affect policies, management, and operation of healthcare organizations, as well as the analysis of qualitative and quantitative healthcare data and information for effective decision-making. The program further analyzes the legal and ethical principles and responsibilities of healthcare organizations to individual patient and community healthcare needs, as well as to explain strategic and marketing priorities of healthcare organization in relationship to the needs and values of a community.
