HEERF II (Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund)
A round of grants were awarded with funds allocated from ED for students on June 17th, 2021. Based on the guidance from ED, online students were now included in these awards. Other than adding online students and a minor modification to the EFC ranges, these grants had the same eligibility criteria as CARES I grants for students enrolled in school as of March 19, 2021. All eligible students were awarded grants under HEERF II following the schedule below:
1,106 students were Full-time with an EFC of $0 – $5,711 = Award amount was $1,200
137 students were Part-time with an EFC of $0 – $5,101 = Award amount was $600
131 students were Full-time with an EFC of $5,712 – $15,000 = Award amount was $1,000
12 students were Part-time with an EFC of $5,101 – $15,000 = Award amount was $500
94 students were Full-time with EFC of >$15,000 = Award amount was $800
10 students were Part-time with an EFC of >$15,000 = Award amount was $400
Students automatically received emergency grant funds via check or direct deposit, depending on the preference indicated at registration.
Thus, 100% of HEERF II funds specified for students were distributed on June 17th, 2021. 1,490 eligible students received a total of $1,625,600 ($388,014.84 from student funds & $1,237,585.20 from institutional funds). Students received notification of their grant awards via their school email account. We will report this specific disbursement on the quarterly institutional report.
